ABOUT US

Ivey Gemstones principals have extensive knowledge of colored stones and lapidary. Over the past 30+ years we have been enthusiastically collecting and enjoying rocks and gemstones. Our private collection is literally an A to Z adventure from Aquamarine and Andalusite all the way to Zircon. Our rare gems include Apatite, Axinite, Enstatite, Idocrase, Kornerupine, Scapolite, Sillimanite, Sphalerite, and Spodumene. As a collector, all of our gems are cut to bring out the best in each stone. Ivey Gemstones is a family business and all stones are now graded by our daughter Erin, a Graduate Gemologist (GIA).

We are obviously passionate about our colored stones so we made some jewelry to showcase the beauty and unique character of some lesser known gems. A pear shaped Sillimanite is surrounded by White Sapphires for a radiant pendant, and a large Heliodor is surrounded by Multi-Colored Spinels for a big and bold cocktail ring. Other pieces utilize Oregon Sunstone, Bi-Color Tourmaline, Rubellite Tourmaline, and Zircon. We believe a gift of loose gems can be transformed into a truly original work of art by a talented Goldsmith, Jewelry Designer, or Jeweler who has their own in-house designer.

We encourage Jewelers and Designers to inventory a selection of loose gems, including our large unheated Aquamarine and unique colors of African Tourmaline, for the increasing number of clients who would like to participate in the custom jewelry process. Many of our lesser known gems are strikingly beautiful and have excellent characteristics for jewelry.
